Eric rushed this episode to be sure to have it ready for you in time for Halloween so please forgive any little mistakes that may have been left in. Yes, host Eric Dwinnells is back to tell you about all the things he did to make the most of this year's Halloween season including a visit to The Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast, Gallows Hill Theater, and The Rebecca Nurse Homestead. He'll also tell you his thoughts on the new Halloween film. Don't worry: no spoilers. But also on this episode, Eric dives into the history of the infamous Ben Cooper Halloween Costume Company. If you're over 30, chances are pretty good that you owned at least one Ben Cooper costume in your childhood. They were those cheep boxed costumes that came with those thin plastic masks and (usually) plastic smocks with the licensed character's name on them. And what licensee they had! Pretty much every major movie, cartoon or TV was represented with a Ben Cooper costume of varying artistic quality and accuracy. Tonight Eric ponders the past and possible future of the iconic Ben Cooper costumes and tells you about a recent interview he did with the ICONography podcast. Subscribe, rate and review Join the Spookaroos Last week's episode got a little heavy so this week let's get real dumb! Tonight we celebrate Beavis and Butt-Head in general and Cornholio Lord of the Harvest specifically! It may or may not surprise you to learn that Eric was a big Beavis and Butt-Head fan during the show's original run so naturally he was tuned in when they aired there one and only Halloween special on Halloween night in 1995. Sure it's crude and dumb but it's also funny as hell...if you have the right sense of humor! Are you fartknockers brave enough to face the wrath of the Almighty Bunghole? Subscribe, rate & review Join the FB Group! Eric Dwinnells, The Witchfinder General of Salem Massachusetts, has many thoughts about the city in which he carries out his work. So does guest cohost Brian Toney. Tonight they sit down without notes to discuss their true thoughts, feelings and theories about Witch City: Salem, MA. If you know anything about Salem, it's probably because of the witchcraft trials that took place there in 1692. Ultimately, at least 20 people were executed as a direct result of the witch trials and in the over 300 years that have followed, the city has grabbled with how to deal with this national tragedy. How can you both acknowledge the terror of the tragedy and yet still market it to millions of tourist? Salem is widely considered the Halloween capital of the world and with good reason: every day in Salem is Halloween. But in October, the city ramps up to a whole new level.Tonight Eric and Brian will talk about what makes Salem so special...and some ways in which (witch?) it could be better!
