Eric and guest cohost Jackie Weatherbee have a looong discussion about the witch hysteria that swept not just Salem, but much of the Bay State in the 17th century! Why did a group of girls go apeshit and start condemning their neighbors to death? Why did the government allow it to happen? How did it end and what happened to the survivors on both sides of the trial? All these questions and more will be answered on this episode of Spooky A S! Jackie happens to be a guide at one of the museums in Salem (though, for legal reasons, we won't say with one) so she had a lot of good info to share. The problem is the podcast is only allowed so much bandwidth per month so we had to cut almost half of this episode out! But fear not! What remains is a very good primer on the Salem Witch Trials...you could totally pass a history test on it by listening. But if you want to hear the whole thing, keep an eye on our brand-new youtube page and good things may happen! Please don't forget to subscribe on iTunes or Stitcher! Leave a Reply. |
